COMMODITY MANAGER

Location: NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
Our client, a complete building performance solutions from roots to rooftops is looking to fill a Commodity Manager-Direct Materials position in Nashville, TN.
 
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required5-10 years (combined) including Procurement; Manufacturing and/or EngineeringAbility to multitask and adapt to a rapidly changing business environmentAbility to multitask and adapt priorities quicklyEffective and advanced communication skillsAdvanced planning & analytical capabilityAdvanced, complex problem solving; able to identify key issues and effectively coordinate efforts to achieve resolutionLeadership & teamwork; able to build internal & external alliances with focus on “customer relations”Business understanding of technical specificationsResponsibilities Develops commodity, supplier, and negotiation strategies in conjunction with stakeholders and executes to established timelines to ensure strategic direction within the businessInteracts with both suppliers and internal customers to identify, implement, and realize optimal value and performancePartners closely with and builds strong relationships with internal customers (i.e., manufacturing, finance, quality, engineering, etc.) to understand and effectively respond to supplier and commodity needsMonitors commodity-impacting market trends to establish insight for strategy development, execution, and risk mitigationProvide purchasing support ensuring Procurement representation and participation in all issues related to assigned commoditiesSupport the identification, research and evaluation of suppliers that meet the organization’s standards of price, quality, timing, service and reliability of supplyResolves any internal or external issues related to quality, cost, delivery, etc. to minimize the risk of interrupted supplySupport the execution and management of Procurement processes for designated commodities to reduce total cost of ownership for goods & services while ensuring uninterrupted supplyFacilitate Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) efforts including strategic segmentation and supplier rationalizationEnsure supplier qualification efforts and ongoing quality managementManage and enhance supplier performance through the establishment of KPI's/SLA's (contract content) and effective supplier and stake holder interactionAssessing suppliers’ products and service offerings to ensure compliance with specifications and performance requirements, the Manager will facilitate the analysis and evaluation of quotations, proposals, etc…Scope of assignment includes:Ensuring internal & external relevant data collectionCommodity & market analysis; cost modeling & analysisNegotiate, source, award, & execute across impacted Functions & Business UnitsContract administration & compliance monitoring for assigned commodities.
