STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Location: ATLANTA, GEORGIA
Our client, the largest provider of temperature controlled distribution services in the US, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team at their Corporate Office in Atlanta, Ga.
 
Primary Responsibility:
Support accounting and financial reporting requirements of the Company.
Essential Functions:
  1. Provide accounting support and monthly field reporting for specified general ledger accounts
  2. Conduct thorough reviews of monthly revenue and expense accounts
  3. Analyze and research financial information pertaining to statements of operations, assets, liabilities, and capital
  4. Assist in the preparation of journal entries related to monthly General Ledger activity and adjusting journal entries
  5. Complete assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  6. Audit and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions
  7. Adhere to the monthly closing calendar
  8. Implement accounting control procedures as directed
  9. Assist Senior Accountants, Supervisors and General Ledger group as required
  10. Other duties as requested
Experience and Skills
Minimum Qualifications/Additional Skills:
Education, Training & Professional Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum 1 year related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • CPA track required
  • Understanding of GAAP
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and accounting software systems (SAP experience preferred)
