SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT

Location: ATLANTA, GEORGIA
Our client, the largest provider of temperature controlled distribution services in the US, is seeking Senior Tax Accountant to join their team at their Corporate Office in Atlanta, Ga.
 
 
Primary Responsibility:
Support all federal, foreign, state and local tax reporting requirements of the Company.
 
Essential Functions:
  1. Preparation of state & local tax returns, reports, and a variety of forms with tax reporting requirements.
  2. Preparation and assistance with tax accounting (tax journal entries) and financial statement disclosure
  3. Preparation of federal, foreign, state and local tax  statements and account analysis by tax entity
  4. Provide assistance to Tax Department for external reporting of:
    • REIT compliance
    • Individual tax entities
    • Federal, state and foreign compliance
    • Property tax filings by state
    • Sales and use, property, and local tax examinations
       
  5. Provide assistance to Tax Department for all activities involving:
    • Tax account analysis
    • Data gathering and compiling of information for further tax analysis
    • Direct analysis leading to tax reporting and planning
    • Global tax compliance including transfer pricing, VAT compliance, country specific taxation issues
    • Tax strategies for IPO Transaction
    • Tax strategies for new deals and agreements
    • Aid in creation of new entities
    • Aid with new acquisitions
    • Aid with other transactions
    • Aid with reorganizations, if applicable
    • Aid with tax notices responses.
    • Assist with IRS and state audits.
       
  6. Assist Director with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and testing for Corporate Tax Department
  7. Other duties as requested
        
Experience and Skills
Qualifications & Experience:
 
Education, Training & Professional Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • Minimum 3 years of Accounting and tax related experience required
  • Big 4 or Tier 2 audit experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and accounting software/ERP systems
