Our client, the largest provider of temperature controlled distribution services in the US, is seeking a RPGLE Programmer/Analyst to join their team at their Corporate Office in Atlanta, Ga.
Primary Responsibility:
Prepares detailed specifications for new programs.  Develop, test, and implement software programs, and provide follow up support of projects for applications.
Essential Functions:
  1. Develop software programs related to business applications.
  2. Participate in the design, creation, and support of new application software.
  3. Prepare specifications for new programs and changes to existing programs.
  4. Design and create user file definitions.
  5. Follow established standards for the design, coding, and testing of software.
  6. Create modifications to existing applications based on project requirements.
  7. Write new programs based on project requirements.
  8. Use PDM, SEU, SDA, SQL, interactive debugger, and any other application development productivity tools.
  9. Utilize problem resolution software to debug applications and provide software solution.
  10. Work with technical writer to prepare user documentation.
  11. Create test plans, test files, and scripts for unit testing, and then integrate.
  12. Prepare time estimates for program modifications, enhancements, or new application software.
  13. Share responsibility for after- hours support for applications.
  14. Other duties as requested.
Experience and Skills
Qualifications/Additional Skills:
  • 4+ years of experience in technical fields: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of program experience with AS400 / iSeries
  • Previous experience using LANSA is required
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of warehouse industries.
  • Demonstrated planning, task organizing and execution skills.
  • Ability to work in team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
The salary range is:  $80K - $90K
